Nedlands Toy Library Perth WA

Nedlands Toy Library Borrowing Conditions

Each registered child may borrow up to 5 toys each visit. So that all members may benefit from a wide selection, please note that toys cannot be reserved or immediately re-borrowed.

Fines are levied for overdue toys, missing pieces, damaged pieces or packaging (excluding wear and tear).

Roster Duty

Each member must do roster duty to assist with the opening of the library, at least 4 times per year.

Roster duty is only 1.5 hours each time (a bit more for the supervisor who has to pick up and return the key), for a total yearly commitment of around 6 hours.

It is possible for you to choose your preferred days and dates for roster duty; otherwise these will be assigned to you. If it is necessary to make a change, you are responsible for arranging your own roster swaps.

Ideally, during each session there should be 2 volunteers working together, with one more experienced person as the supervisor. It is the responsibility of the supervisor to collect the key for the Toy Library from a committee member prior to the commencement of their session.

Committee

A volunteer committee of parent members is elected each year to co-ordinate and carry out the broader activities of the Toy Library, such as purchasing, cataloguing, packaging of new toys, and organising the roster duty etc.

Names and contact details are available on the Toy Library Notice Board. If you are interested in joining the committee, please contact a committee member.
